Although they once seemed another fashion flash-in-the-pan, cargo trousers have established themselves as a bona fide wardrobe staple. There are luxe versions, tailored versions, balloon versions – there’s a cargo for every contingency.

The more relaxed cut of cargo pants means they work best with a form-fitting top. A vest is the classic choice but for these chillier days, a clingy knit is worth considering. To make things really toasty, a chunky jumper will work too, just remember to tuck it in.
